Grandfather (“Vanaisa”) is a play written by the distinguished Estonian author Maimu Berg to celebrate the centenary of the Republic of Estonia, and created especially for Court in the Act (the theatre club of the European Court of Human Rights) and Tagora.
The Republic of Estonia came into being on 24 February 1918 and, despite the suspension of its independence for half a century, was re-established on 20 August 1991. Grandfather tells a family story reflecting the most important historical and dramatic events of Estonia’s past. The play will be in English and last about one hour.
Numbers are limited, so please book via e-mail if you plan to attend. This is essential for anyone not holding a badge allowing access to the Human Rights Building. Deadline: 1 February 2018.
