FEATS, the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies, takes place next year in The Hague from 17 to 20 May. The venue is the splendid Koninklijke Schouwburg (pictured).
FEATS is a competitive festival for short plays in English. Standards are high, but we can usually manage to hold our heads up, even if our prize-winning entries are rare.
Tagora has been asked to say whether we would like to take part. (This is not yet an invitation, just an “expression of interest” at this stage.) We have to reply by the end of September. Final selection will be made, in accordance with the FEATS rules, at the FEATS steering committee meeting early in October.
So, the question is, do we want to go?
To help decide, we are holding a launch meeting on Tuesday 11 September. The main purpose will be to find out how many people want to go and to get an idea about allocation of responsibilities – acting, stage management, set design, lighting, etc.
When we have an idea of numbers we can start looking for material.
Please come along if you’d like to find out more. We’ll be talking about the organisation of the festival, discussing past experiences and explaining the commitment involved.
All are welcome, but please contact Tagora at least 48 hours in advance if you do not have a badge giving access to the Council of Europe buildings. (And bear in mind that most badges issued for Oh, What a Lovely War! are no longer valid.)
Hope to see you!
