Following on from our enjoyable production of The Bear in FEATS last year, we are holding a reading of another short play by Chekhov. In The Anniversary (also known in English as The Jubilee), the plans to celebrate the anniversary of a bank meet with unexpected obstacles. Cast: two men, two women and some supporting roles. All are welcome, either to join in or just listen. See the calendar on the right for time and place.
FEATS 2012 takes place in Antwerp, Belgium, over the Whit weekend (from Friday 25 until Monday 28 May). Three short plays in English each evening, a let-your-hair-down party, fringe activities during the day, the “FEATlets” festival for younger people, and prize-giving after the last performance. Three friends in a debate about good taste in art and life. Yasmina Reza’s play (in English translation) will be produced by Tagora in December this year. Casting is now in progress, and the director, Pelin Iscan, is looking for actors. The cast consists of three men, so as far as stage roles are concerned the ladies are out of luck this time round – although there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved in other ways.
